Canadian Creative Industries Virtual Trade Mission to Germany

Welcome to

Canadian Creative Industries Virtual Trade Mission to Germany

Inspiring plenary sessions, informative workshops and targeted 1:1 meetings promises knowledge gain and new business contacts.

This mission will bring together creative industries companies (buyers as well as suppliers) from Canada and Germany. This is a unique opportunity to generate new business contacts and partnerships. In the context of the postponement of the Canadian creative industries trade mission to Europe due to the pandemic, and following the successful delivery of the first Creative Industries Virtual Trade Mission to the Netherlands in November 2020, the Department of Canadian Heritage is proceeding with a second virtual trade mission, scheduled for March 23 to 25, 2021, focused on Germany.

This initiative reflects how Canadian Heritage pivoted its trade operations to virtual initiatives to continue to delivery its mandate under the Creative Export Strategy, helping Canadian creative industries maximize their export potential despite the challenging circumstances due to the pandemic.

Mission Objectives

  • Allow companies to access valuable international business development opportunities despite restrictions on travel and on large gatherings;

  • Build momentum for the eventual in-person trade mission to Europe and for Canada's year as Guest of Honour at the 2021 Frankfurt Book Fair;

  • Introduce companies to potential partners/buyers/investors in the German creative industry market ahead of their participation in the Europe mission, through high-quality, tailored matchmaking; and
